I made an umbrella pom pom match to go along with our umbrella theme this week. I traced around a small bowl on six different colors of cardstock paper and cut the circles out. I then cut around 1/4 of each circle off so it formed an umbrella shape. The next step was to glue a handle on to the bottom of each umbrella shape.
I put out a bowl of pom poms that were the same colors as the umbrellas. On the bottom of each pom pom I attached a magnet to add weight to the pom pom and also so the activity could be done on a magnetic surface.

The children put the pom poms on the same color umbrellas. They then counted how many were on each umbrella and which umbrella had the most and which had the least pom poms.
