I made a space count and cover for math and number identification. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper and glued the space mats inside a file folder.
I cut out the number squares and cover-up circles and laminated them. I put self-adhesive magnets on the back of the circles to add weight to them which holds them in place better and also makes it easier for the children to pick them up. You can also use pom-poms and playdough instead of the cover-up circles.
In this activity the children pick a number card then count and cover the same number of circles on the mats. I recommend putting the two space mats inside a file folder to make a total of 26 circles to cover.
