I set up an outdoor playdough center today and the children made playdough ladybugs. I made a leaf mat that the children could use to put their ladybugs on (I printed it on cardstock paper and laminated it). The children pinched and shaped red playdough into ovals and then made small balls from black playdough.
The next step was to put the ladybug heads and bodies together and then press black pony beads on the body of each ladybug. The children really enjoyed making the ladybugs and putting them on the leaf mat.
