We made playdough chicka chicka boom boom trees today for literacy and fine motor development. The children made tree trunks from brown playdough and then made the leaves from green playdough and put them above the tree trunk. They then made small playdough balls out of black playdough and pressed them on the leaves.
The children then pressed letter beads that I purchased from amazon.com on to the tree. When they were done adding letters we discussed what letters they added to the tree and many were able to identify them.
