Here is a really easy to set up fine motor activity. You just need paint chip samples which you can find for free at almost anywhere that sells paint. You will also need paper punches.
I purchased a set of four small paper punches from the craft store which I thought were the perfect size for young children to use. The type of punches I selected had a button that the children had to squeeze to punch but there are also punches that have levers for children to press as well.
I put the paint chip samples along with the punches in a basket and set them out. I put numbers on some of the paint chips and left the others blank. Children could make as many punches as they wanted on the blank paint chips and if they chose a paint chip with a number on it they had to punch the same amount as the number.
