During the summer we do a lot of outdoor centers. Today I put together lego sensory tubs and the children had a blast with them. I selected larger blocks such as duplos and mega blocks for the younger children and put them in the tubs. If you have older children you can use regular legos.
I made sure I had a variety of colors and number of connectors on the blocks and then I filled the tubs with water. The children sorted through the blocks connecting blocks that were they same color. They also free played the the blocks making different structures and I also included animals ... plants ... and people for them to play with.
