We did a gingerbread pom pom color match today that the children really enjoyed. It was a great activity for fine motor ... color recognition ... and math. I printed the gingerbread patterns on cardstock paper and laminated them. I then put a self-adhesive magnet on the bottom of each pom pom and put them into a bowl. Children picked up the pom poms and placed them on the gingerbread with the same colors. As a math extension we counted how many pom poms were on each gingerbread. I love this idea! I am going to add a fine meeting to this activity by having students use a tweezer to move pompom to the card.
