I went to a couple of garden centers this weekend and there were some really beautiful flowers there. I decided to take pictures and make a flower matching activity that we used for visual discrimination skills and fine motor development.
I printed out two copies on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminated them. I then set them out in a basket along with clothespins. The children found the the cards with the same pictures and clipped them together with the clothespins.

Thank you Shelley. These are awesome. I live Texas and most of my flowers are dead and dried up already. What a great idea to make these!!

Sorry to hear about you flowers Stacey. We just had a frost warning and I think the flowers in the shops will be damaged giving us less to choose from.

I will have to learn the named of a few of these flowers. The photos are so bright and vivid. Students and grandchildren will love playing "Memory" with these when I print them on glossy photo paper and cut them into squares. So beautifulď

Hi Betsy ... I haven't tried glossy photo paper yet. What is the thickness of it compared to index paper?

Oh, I really, really do like these! I would like to know the names of the flowers though so I could use them with an older child as a matching exercise. If you could put the names here in the same order as the pictures in the PDF, that would be sufficient. Thanks so much

Hi Von!! I'm sorry I did not take the time to write the flower names down when I was in garden centers. That's a great idea to match the flower names to the photos!!
