We love working on fine motor skills development in our class. I purchased craft feathers from Michaels craft store and set them out with matching color pony beads.
Children put the same color beads on the feathers by lacing them onto the bottom of the feathers and pulling them to the top. They laced as many beads as they wanted on each feather.
Once they had the beads on the feathers they counted how many beads were on each feather noting which feather had the most beads and which had the least.
