The free membership printable this week is teddy bear shape tracers. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminated them. I then set them out along with washable markers.
Shape tracers are great for developing fine motor and writing skills as well as shape identification. I have included an all black and white set ... a colored bear only version .... and a colored bear with colored shapes version so you have a choice in which to use with your early learners.
In this activity the children trace the shapes with their finger first and then with a washable marker. You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday August 7th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is also where I have add teddy bear color puzzles.
The free membership printable this week is Dinosaur Shape Tracers. This is a great activity for fine motor development and pre-writing skills. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and then laminated them.
I set them out with some markers. We use crayola washables because they are easy to wipe off the laminated tracers.
The first step is to trace the shapes with their fingers. The children also try to name the shapes that are on each card.
The children then trace around the shapes with markers. Play continues until all the shapes have been traced. You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday April 24th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is also where the dinosaur alpha tracers are located.
We are working a lot on shapes and pre-writing skills this month. I made penguin shape tracers for the children to use in our writing center. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper and cut them out.
I laminated all of the shape tracers and set them out with crayola washable markers. I made the tracers with the same shapes on them and then with mixed shapes on them. Children were free to choose which tracers they wanted to use.
In this activity children trace the shapes with washable markers. We then talk about what shapes are on each tracer. You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday January 24th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is where the penguin letter sequence can also be found.
