I made this letter sorting activity for our apple theme. You can print the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminate them. I attached the two apple trees to baskets but you can use whatever container that you have available. Children choose a letter apple and determine if the letter is an uppercase or lowercase letter. They then put the apple in the correct basket as labeled by the apple tree. You can see a video of this activity here or by clicking below:

A great center activity! Would it be possible for you to add the color version of lower case s - z? I can't make the black & white version look as great as yours!!

Another great activity. Thanks Shelley! You have shared so many great ideas over the years! just a thought on this one...how about making the titles on the apple trees in all caps or all lower case for a visual reminder to non readers

I would not change the lettering on the trees. The idea is for the child to know uppercase and lowercase and to begin to identify the vocabulary on the trees. Not to identify it by matching the lettering on the trees.

This is a great activity for Kindergarten. It is exactly what we are working on now. I use your frog letter mats in a work station also. I sent home a set for my students to practice with as well. Thank you so much for the variety! :) I need to change my email address. You have my work email. How can I do that? Also, I got married, so my last name has changed. ;)
