This week I made space matching cards. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminate them. There are a couple different ways the matches can be made.
In this activity children pick a shape card and find the card with the same matching shape. They then can be clipped together with mini clothes pins (regular work too). For self checking have the children clip the cards back to back. Children can match the same color shapes or two different color shapes.
I have also made cards with blank shapes that the children can place the matching shape on top of. We use velcro to secure the shapes. These cards can further be matched with the card with the same shape.
