This week's free membership printable is heart cover up mats. The mats are great for fine motor development as well as early math skills. I printed the mats on cardstock paper and laminated them.
There are eight different mats to choose from and a variety of cover ups can be used. We use buttons ... playdough ... pom poms ... and paint daubers. I have included black and white patterns along with the part color and full color patterns.
We use the mats for both fine motor development and also early math skills by adding dice.
In this activity children cover up all the blank circles on the mat. Children can also roll a dice and cover up the same number of blank circles on the mat that is shown on the dice. Once all the circles have been covered children can roll the dice and remove the same number of cover ups.
