Once of our favorite super cute fall craft projects is a tissue paper wreath. These are super easy to make but really great for fine motor development. We cut the centers out of paper plates (those just starting to use scissors may need some help). The next step was to cut or tear fall colored tissue paper in to small squares or rectangle shapes.
Children can sort the tissue paper by color if they wish but we just put all of the tissue paper into bowls. The children applied glue to the paper plates and then scrunched up the tissue paper pieces and press them on to the glue.

The free membership printable this week is Fall Leaf Puzzles for visual discrimination and color recognition. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminated them. I then cut along the line on each leaf to make two halves.
I separated the leaves into two halves and put them into two baskets. I have included twenty pattern leaf puzzles and twelve color leaf puzzles.
In this activity the children find the two halves and put them together to form a leaf. Play continues until all puzzle pieces have been matched.
You can grab the patterns below for free until Sunday September 24th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is also where I have added a fall leaf color sort. fall leaf puzzles *make sure you open this file in adobe acrobat reader instead of the default web browser pdf reader.
The free membership printable this week is fall leaves number match which is a great activity for number recognition and review. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper and cut them out. I then laminated all pieces and separated the leaves from the baskets.
I laid the number baskets out on the table and put the leaves in a pile next to the baskets. I do not put the baskets in any particular order but it is up to you how you want to set them up for your early learners.
In this activity children pick a number leaf from the pile and place it on top of the basket with a same number. Play continues until all the leaves and baskets have been matched. You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday September 27th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is where the fall leaves alphabet match is also located.
