The free membership printable this week is chicka chicka boom boom number cover-ups which is great for number recognition and review as well as fine motor development. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper cut them out and laminated them.

I set the number cards out along with the cover-up pieces in our math center. You can you use clothepins if you want to turn them into a match and clip activity which is also great for fine motor.

In this activity the children pick a number card and cover-up the same number that is on the tree. Play continues until all cards have been covered (or clipped).

You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday September 18th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is also where I have added the chicka chicka boom boom letter cover-ups.

Chicka Boom Color Match and Clip

We are doing a lot of work with color recognition and fine motor development and we love using match and clip cards because they work on both of these skills. I printed two setsthe patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminated them.

I put the color cards and twelve clothespins in a basket and set them out. The children picked a card and then found the matching card and clipped them together with a clothespin. Play continued until all colors cards had been matched.

You can also set this up as a floor or table game by laying one set of the color cards out and having the children put the matching card on top of the color cards.

The free membership printable this week is chicka chicka boom boom alphabet match which is a great activity for letter recognition and review. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper ... cut them out and laminated them. I also put self-adhesive magnets on the back of the letter circles to raise them up off the surface which makes it easier for the children to pick up and move the pieces.

The mats and letter circles come with both uppercase and lowercase letters so you can choose what kind of a match you want your early learners to work on. You can even glue the mats inside a file folder to make a file folder game.

In this activity children put the loose letter circles on the matching letters on the mat. Play continues until all letters have been covered. You can do an upper to upper ... upper to lower ... and lower to lower match. You can grab the patterns for free until Sunday September 20th ... after that they will only be available in the member's section which is where the chicka chicka boom boom number match is also located.

Playdough CCBB Tree

We made playdough chicka chicka boom boom trees today for literacy and fine motor development. The children made tree trunks from brown playdough and then made the leaves from green playdough and put them above the tree trunk. They then made small playdough balls out of black playdough and pressed them on the leaves.

The children then pressed letter beads that I purchased from amazon.com on to the tree. When they were done adding letters we discussed what letters they added to the tree and many were able to identify them.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Color Clothespin Cards Preschool and Kindergarten Activity

I made chicka chicka boom boom color clothespin cards for the children to work on their colors and fine motor skills. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper and cut them out. After I laminated them I set them out in a basket with clothepins and the children put a clothespin on the matching color on each card.

The free daily printable this week is Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Letter Sequence Sticks which is a great activity for letter recognition and review. In this activity children put the letter sticks in alphabetical order. Grab the patterns for free until Sunday September 21st ... after that they will only be available in the member's section.
