This week I made butterfly punch strips for fine motor development. I printed the patterns on cardstock paper but you can use regular paper too. I cut the strips out and placed them on the tables with hole punchers.
I made the punch strips with two different punch dots. Children can use either the solid or outline dots ... the solid dots are the easier of the two for children to punch.
Each strip has sixteen dots to punch but you can decrease the number of dots for the children to punch by simply cutting the strips to the number of dots you would like the children to punch.
Once the holes have been punched on the strips children can hook plastic chain links or book rings in the holes for extra fine motor work.
I recommend printing the patterns on cardstock paper and then laminating them before the children punch the holes if you will be using the chain links or book rings.
