We did a gingerbread pom pom color match today that the children really enjoyed. It was a great activity for fine motor ... color recognition ... and math. I printed the gingerbread patterns on cardstock paper and laminated them. I then put a self-adhesive magnet on the bottom of each pom pom and put them into a bowl. Children picked up the pom poms and placed them on the gingerbread with the same colors. As a math extension we counted how many pom poms were on each gingerbread. The special is for a twelve month membership for the price of six months. If you get a chance please check out the special here. I set this up in our math center for the children to work on counting and fine motor skills. I set out a container which had a hole drilled on the top along with a bowl of red and green pom poms. The children pushed the pom poms through the hole in the container. When they were done they took the lid off and counted the number of red and green pom poms and recorded the number on the pom pom sheet.
