I made this activity for our math center. I printed the pattern on cardstock paper ... cut it out and glue it on a sheet of blue cardstock paper. I also printed out the number circles ... laminated them and put a self-adhesive magnet on the back of each one.
I put blue decorative stones that represented fish bubbles in a small dish (remember to use supervision for children under three and those still in the stages of putting small items in their mouths). The children would use the bubbles as counters this activity. The number circles are from 0 - 30 but I set out only ten number circles at a time for the children to work on.
The children picked a number circle and and put it on the blank circle on the rainbow fish. They then put the same number of the bubble counters on the mat. Play continues by removing the number circle and bubble counters and choosing a new number circle to put on the fish.
