Welcome to My Art Project Page! In my preschool program we do a project everyday (at least we try to). The kids really love making things and the parents appreciate their children learning new skills.

While I call these art projects they are really considered craft projects. True art in early childhood is open-ended and child-centered (child chooses what to make and with what supplies with little or no direction from the teacher). It is important that children have these type of art experiences in addition to craft projects.

Please visit this page everyday to see what we made!! Each day there will be a new project idea - complete with instructions and a picture of the finished project.

Paper Plate Penguin

**Please do not copy and paste from this website.**

Materials Needed: Penguin pattern ... cardstock or construction paper ... paper plates ... glue ... ... scissors ... crayons.

Instructions: Print patterns on cardstock paper and cut out. You can also use the patterns to trace around on construction paper or you can even free hand cut the the penguin parts that will be glued on to the paper plate. Color the outside rim of a paper plate with black crayon. Glue penguin head ... beak ... wings ... and feet on to paper plate. Decorate anyway you wish. You can see a video of this project here.
